Palestinian activists decided to launch a global Twitter campaign on Wednesday, via social networking sites, to counter the onslaught by Facebook's administration on Palestinian content in response to the demands of Israeli government leaders.
Palestinian activists monitored more than 50 violations of Facebook's right to Palestinian content, which were divided between the closure of pages and the banning of accounts and the deletion and blocking of content, all recorded after the death of the young Palestinian Ahmed Jarrar, on the second of February.

Al-Rifai added that the Twitter campaign will be the first step against Facebook's actions. The coming days will witness many field events depending on the size of the interaction with tomorrow's campaign, including moving in international forums and networking with international organizations and organizations concerned with freedom of opinion and expression. .
One of the main objectives of the campaign is to pressure the Facebook administration not to respond to the demands of the occupation, to respect the Palestinian content, not to target it, and to raise awareness among Palestinians and Arabs against Facebook's new measures against them.
Finally, Facebook has increased the targeting and closure of Palestinian pages, the blocking of Palestinian publications and the banning of their accounts on the grounds that they are involved in incitement and dissemination of content that includes items classified by the site as terrorism.
